They can discover anything in public records. The question is whether they will care. If information technology's a government background check, they exercise. In whatsoever position of responsibleness, they might.

Old 12-15-2012, 06:52 AM

In general, no. As stated, information technology really depends on who is doing the investigation and for what position. For the run-of-the-mill "nosotros practise groundwork checks on all of our employees" cases information technology won't be an event.

Civil checks volition usually affair in these areas:

- Certain positions that require state and/or federal licensing
- Certain positions in the cyberbanking, finance, and insurance industries that may not need a license, but are notwithstanding privy to the financial information of consumers (someone in the IT dept, a processor/underwriter/teller, even an executive assistant)
- Certain government positions requiring authorities clearance. Those checks go through every aspect of your life for at least 10 years back and the paperwork is insane.

Yet, for the majority of companies, a credit history cheque and a criminal cheque will be enough. Its not ever the case, simply usually, civil judgements related to credit, foreclosure, bankruptcy, divorce, and a lawsuit where you lost and owe the injured party money will show upward on your credit report. The above cases I mentioned are aware that it doesn't always happen, so they will go the actress step in their checks, just I imagine it costs well-nigh companies extra money with the service companies they use or find it not necessary, at least for now.

I would expect any finance related jobs to be concerned about anyone with bad credit and/or sentence for failure to pay a debt. Divorces will bear witness up but other than perchance a wedlock counseling service I don't know why that would brand any divergence to an employer. Lawsuits over diverse other complaints could exist damaging, if it could fifty-fifty potentially bear witness such undesirable traits as acrimony management bug, vindictiveness, etc.

Non sure what you mean by "background bank check", whether information technology's a simple LAC/NAC, or TS/SCI with lifestyle polygraph, merely when I got my background check I had to list every ceremonious court case to which I'd been a party.
